today we have been mainly focusing on editing and especially on when jack is walking on the video as we dont just want to show him just walking so we have edited every clip that his left foot is raised on. at the moment we have not managed to put the music on the emac so we are finding it difficult to match the visual image with the music.
We did some more editing, we figured out how to edit the walking down the lane to shorten the time of the clip, and it also allows us to synch it with the music. Tomorow we plan to re-film the opening/closing scene with our proper straightjacket instead of our makeshift one.
Now that our straightjacket has arrived and that we finally managed to get ‘mary’ onto the macs after some technical problems, we can now begin to finish off the rest of our filming, from there we plan to edit it into the rough sequence we want and see if any scenes need to be reshot or added.
We have all been argueing who should have the responsibilty of ordering the jacket off the net, in the end on Monday the 10th of November we all sat down and brought a ‘lunatic’ costume off Amazon.co.uk. It cost £21 so we all payed roughly £7. It has been dispatched and will be here by friday meaning we can film some of the missing film next week.
Today we started to split clips and put them back together to achieve the desired effect, this worked on one clip however we couldn’t get it right on a clip of the singer walking, we tried to make it look like he was almost hopping down the road by cutting out each step with his right foot, but we ddn’t quite do it right meaning it looks in a word ‘crap’ we will have to try this again. This negative was a small one compared to five minutes after when the computer shut itself down and we lost everything we’d done in the previous hour, however lucky we had a double lesson so I rectified this, it’s ok now but it still means we effectively lost a lesson and every bit of time is valuable. We are seeing the video shape now, I can really see all the clips together in my head, it’s just a case of filming the remaining parts and putting them together.
this is our story board in doing this it has really enabled us to go out and know exactly what kind of shot we want to do which helps saves time which is very much needed at the moment.

Before today we have been filming a lot to get as many quality shots as possible so we have a lot of choices to play around with when we edit things for our final video. Personally I have been watching a lot of music videos to pick up on any more clever shots I think we could fit into our video, such as pink new video with the song “so what”.
Today we edited the chunk of film we had already done, mostly just cutting it down to the parts we need and getting rid of the unneeded sections such as outakes or other errors such as a car going by in a shot. Once we had finished however the Mac decided to crash and we lost everything we had done this session, whilst being annoying it taught is a valuable lesson : to save our work regularly.
Also yesterday we ordered the straightjacket we need for the mental hospital scene from the internet, we originally attempted to mimic one using two long sleeved shirts but it just looked pathetic so we decided we would have to get a proper one.
We began to chop up parts of our video that we have today, there’s still alot of filming to be done but by editing what we have already we can atleast begin to get a basic outline of what our video will look like, we came across a slight annoyance when we realised we weren’t quite splitting the clip properly meaning parts of the video we needed were delelted, we spoke to Mr Luhrs and sorted the problem.
Today we filmed another chunk of scenes that were available to be done and we also began editing several of the shots we filmed last week.
