After borrowing a camera over the weekend, I managed to plan out a full day of filming, which went very well. Things might be picking up at last! I would say that I am about half way through filming the initial clips, which i can then analyse to see if i need to retake any.

After planning a day of filming, pretty much everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. Original intentions were to film the ‘band’ footage in the Hammond studio. After turning up on the day, however, there was a lesson in there, despite having booked a week in advance. We also couldn’t use The Max studios, as they were having rehearsals for the upcoming play. The school’s Assembly hall was out of use because the stage was being set up for a music workshop later in the day.
Our next option was to change the idea and film in an ‘underground’ environment, as so use the school’s cellars. The problem with that idea was that we couldn’t use them due to asbestos. Eventually we settled on filming in the school’s arboretum and therefore finally got the day’s filming done.

I really like the extreme close-up, as seen in ‘Once upon a Time In the West’, which focuses on Clint’s eyes. I feel this shot provides a lot of depth to the character and allows to really involve the audience and draw them in. This shot would be excellent in my own production, I simply need to find a suitable place for this shot to work.

In order to make the most out of filming, I need to know when all the actors are available to film, so I can plan filing times effectively.
Myself- Every weekday after school, saturday all day, possibly sunday.
Brett- Friday all day, saturday all day, sunday all day.
Ashleigh- Tuesday and wednesday after school until 6, saturday all day.
Mum- saturday after 2, sunday all day.

After visiting my GP in the medical centre she was suprisingly more than happy to help. she handed me a needle and syringe, which would typically be used by drug addicts, but also a larger one. This is because she said although the small one is realistic, the larger one might be more suiitable to be seen on film and have more of an impact.
Also bought the tubes of fake blood I will need to film some of the scenes.

Here are the finalised lyrics of my edited version of the song:
(Can you feel that?)
(Oh shit)
Ooh ah ah ah ah!
Ooh ah ah ah ah!
Drowning deep in my sea of loathing
Broken your servant I kneel
(Will you give in to me?)
It seems what’s left of my human side
Is slowly changing … in me
(Will you give in to me?)
Looking at my own reflection
When suddenly it changes
Violently it changes
Oh no, There is no turning back now
You’ve woken up the demon … in me
Get up, come on get down with the sickness
Get up, come on get down with the sickness
Get up, come on get down with the sickness
Open up your hate, and let it flow into me
Get up, come on get down with the sickness
You mother get up
Come on get down with the sickness
You fucker get up
Come on get down with the sickness
Madness is the gift, that has been given to me
I can see inside you, the sickness is rising
Don’t try to deny what you feel
(Will you give in to me?)
It seems that all that was good has died
And is decaying in me
(Will you give in to me?)
It seems you’re having some trouble
In dealing with these changes
Living with these changes
Oh no, the world is a scary place
Now that you’ve woken up the demon … in me
Get up, come on get down with the sickness
Get up, come on get down with the sickness
Get up, come on get down with the sickness
Open up your hate, and let it flow into me
Get up, come on get down with the sickness
You mother get up
Come on get down with the sickness
You fucker get up
Come on get down with the sickness
Mad-ness has now come over me

After spending several days editing the original song on Audacity to try and shorten it, I have finally reached a finished product. The song is now under 3 minutes long and has had a lot removed from it. I have taken out half of the introduction, one of the choruses, the breakdown and ’solo’.

Firstly, I will require some clothing which can get dirty and ruined. This could be a simple charity shop job. next I will require fake blood for some of the scenes. Luckily the coursework fits nicely in place with halloween so again this isnt a problem. The big issue is how I will get hold of a syringe and needle. To the best of my knowledge needles can only be prescribed by doctors and not bought from chemists. I have 2 ways of tackling this, first is to ask my GP and explain the situation and use for the needle and if I still can’t get access to one I will make my own with a sewing needle and syringe. Finally I will need a clear packet of sherbet/ icing sugar whic will act as the drug.
