Snowpatrol - Take Back The City.
I like the use of speed editing in this Video.

Our first day of filming in Abbey Park, Leicester.
Panic at the Disco - Northern Downpour;
This Video uses the Lyrics of the song throughout on Billoards, tshirts and even in windows. This is the same kind of idea as we want to do in our Video.
Panic at the disco - Northern Downpour
This video uses text very well throughout the video. This interlinks with our idea of subliminal messages to show bits of the lyrics.
This Tuesday (28.10.2008) we went to film the live performance band section of the video at RPM Studios in Leicester. We were just filming their weekly band oractice but we got some really nice shoots. When we loaded the footage onto the Macs we discovered that some of it was too dark. We altered the saturation and the brightness but it was uneffective, so we need to make the decision either to reshoot or to not include in the video as we do have enough not to include it.
We also used the oppurtunity whilst in town to shoot some of the female protagonist scenes including the text scene, some traffic and urban settings.
Last tuesday (28/10/08), we travelled into Leicester to go to M48’s band practice at some studios, to film a section of our music video. We were planned better for this filming session, and knew exactly what we wanted to film.
We did some good close-up shots of the band members, and instruments, that now need editing down and some pieces syncing to the song itself.
On Tuesday (28th Oct), we travelled out to Leicester to film some live performance scenes. The band were kind enough to let us film in in their practice session. The filming was better as a whole as we knew what we were going to film this time, and at what angles.
However, when we uploaded the film onto the Macs we found out that a couple of the shots were too dark to use. We are going to reshoot some of these.
Whilst in Leicester we also fiilmed some of our night time scenes including the ‘text’ scene and urban settings.
We have planned to use dulled down colours in our video, which we be done during editing, for the settings for scenes and actors costume, but picking out certain colours and picking out the girl in brighter colours to show how the guys world brightens with her, and to hint at the mood of the scene. The costumes our actors will be wearing reflect the genre of music. This is the colour guide we have used to hint at the mood.
Grey
Decay, dusty, pollution, urban sprawl, blank emotions, boredom and mourning.
White
Light, purity, innocence, peace, snow, sterile, bland, empty, unfriendly and cowardice.
Black
Death, evil, absence, mystery, fear, anger, sadness, remorse and anarchism.
Red
Passion, strength, energy, fire, love, excitement, speed, heat, ambition, leadership, masculinity, power and danger. (Studies show that red can have a physical effect, increasing the rate of respiration and raising blood pressure; red also is said to make people hungry.)
Blue
Skies, peace, unity, harmony, tranquility, calmness, coolness, confidence, loyalty, dependability, cleanliness, air, wisdom, royalty and nobility.
Green
Great intelligence, life, nature, bad spirits, spring, fertility, youth, environment, wealth, money, good luck, vigor, generosity, go, grass, aggression, inexperience, envy, misfortune, coldness, jealousy, illness, greed and natures abundance.
Yellow
Sunlight, joy, happiness, earth, optimism, intelligence, idealism, wealth (gold), summer, hope, hazards, dishonesty, avarice and weakness. Yellow ribbons were worn during times of warfare as a sign of hope as women waited for their men to return.
Purple
Envy, Sensuality, spirituality, creativity, wealth, royalty, nobility, ceremony, mystery, wisdom, enlightenment, arrogance, flamboyance, confusion and pride.
Orange
Happiness, energy, balance, heat, fire, enthusiasm, playfulness, overemotion, warning, danger, autumn and desire.
Brown
Calm, boldness, depth, natural organisms, nature, richness, rusticism, stability, tradition, dirt, dullness, filth, heaviness, poverty, roughness and earth. Brown can stimulate the appetite, wholesomeness, steadfastness, simplicity, friendliness, and dependability.
Pink
Spring, gratitude, appreciation, admiration, sympathy, femininity, health, love, June, marriage, joy.

We started our filming in Abbey Park in Leicester on 22/10/08 by filming shots for the montage at the beginning of the song and the “foot shot”. We experienced some trouble (for example we forgot to take the dolly wheels with us so had to film a dolly shot by hand, which took several takes), as it was the first day of filming, but as the day went on, our confidence improved and we learnt more about the camera and how to use it, and so we had become quite good by the end of the day.
We are however a day behind in filming as we had planned to film on 21/10/08, but the people we have cast did not show up, so instead we used the time to find some good locations around the park.
On 28/10/08 we went along to an M48, the band we are using, practise to film shots of the band performing for the sectrions where we show the band at practise. We got on very well, and got the shots we wanted, although several couldn’t be used as the light was not as good as we had hoped.
We have since loaded our film onto the computer and began editing, and have successfully edited two shots completely.
