Im not panicing that we haven’t started filming yet because we are very clear on what we need to do when we do start.
Because of this filming should only take us a couple of days. A full day filming in the garage getting all the shots of the band will be enough and we have set a day aside after John gets back to do this.
Whilst Johns away me and Matt are goin to do all the filming that is possible without him. We will film our first scene as it does not involve john that much.
Hopefully Matt will pass his driving test and we can than get to more destinations to film during free periods. if not we will set another day aside to get all our filming of the story line done and then its just down to the editing.

We have ran into problems concerning our venue. Due to it being as far a field as Medbourne we have been unable to get the time and transport to make it over there. However we have been able to film parts of our video which is not filmed their. Therefore we have spoke to the owner of the house and when john gets back from his jolly in New York the first thing he will be doing as he steps off the plane is getting to Medbourne ready to film. Myself and alex have recruited a 3rd filmer to support us film while John is away. So we are able to continue to persue our goal

I was watching 4music the other day to try and pick out techniques to use in our video.
i liked the effect on the script video of switching between black and white and colour to represent the mood of the song at different points. This could coinside well with our video as we have the darker side to the story (the boyfriend cheating) which could be in black and white contrasted with the shots of the band in colour.
this is the link to the script ‘Break Even’ the script
I also found another video wich i thought used editing in an interesting way. The shots a frozen and certain parts chopped out to allow the images to flow with the rythm.
we could easily do this with our video bt cutting certain frames out.

Unfortunately on Thursday eve i was involved in an RTA ( Rugby Tackling accident). Luckily, I escaped with only two broken bones in my hand. However, this aroused suspicions that i may be unable to perform to my full potential during the production of our music video. I have been to see a specialist and he reassured me that if i undertake the appropriate measures then i will be right as reign for our video.
Fear not as England Head Coach Martin Johnson was informed of my injury immediately and i was informed that my replacement, for the Pacific Island game, Lee Mears had a decent game and my absence didn’t hamper the team to badly.

A sad day for media came on thursday night, John Lee (lead singer) broke his hand in two places. After carefull consideration and the all clear from the medics, John will continue to play the pivotable part in the band. we think that this injury could add to the effect we are looking for, as he looks like a bit of a rebel and a hooligan. The dates are in… the props are sorted… filming has started for a potentially mind bobbling video

FIlming is definataley going to initiate on the upcoming monday and wednesday. We have decided that it will film all of the band shots in one. This ensures that people are wearing the same clothes and look the same. By doing this we will also have similar lighting. all this in unicen has potential to really nail this video

This is a basic outline of our video narrative:
Start: before the music kicks in there will be a close up of someones finger finding the song on an ipod
Graphic Matching: the colour of her nail varnish will murge into the colour of the lead singers top
Rythme: there will next be a montage of quickly edited clips of the band setting up inbetween close ups on a symbol being hit in time with the music
Lip Syncing: when the singing starts there will be a variety of long, medium and close up shots of the band and some close ups on the mouth to show the lip syncing
Narrative: starts with a shot of the girlfriend on her bed, then her eyes look up to a photo of her and her boyfriend on the wall.
Graphic Matching: the photo on the wall will then go into a moving image of the girlfriend and boyfriend on the sofa, her looking bord and him playing on the PSP. She goes into kiss him and at that point he loses the game he’s playing. The screen flashes ‘Game Over’ and he gets annoyed and walkes out.
There will be alot of clips of the band inbetween shots of the narrative.

All my investigation into lead singers has paid off! Circa 12.00pm this afternoon, me, alex and matthew took a trip down to the school hall to for some experimental lip synching shots. The words matched in perfect correlation with the music, which gave the group a well needed confidence boost.
Matt who was filming the lip synching, decided to push the boundaries by going for an extreme close-up on my lips whilst synching. However, the shot appeared to blur. Despite this being accidental the blurry shot worked wonders and will be taken into consideration by the board during the shot selection. Occurances like this come around once in a blue moon, our video success must be written in the stars!!!
For future reference, i will be jetting off to New York on the 25th November. In order to gain more research for my ‘Perfect Performing Portfolio’ i will be going to see ‘Wicked’ on Broadway. I shall study the lead roles to see how they intice the audience. Once this information is gathered i will have a perfect insight into the performing!
Whilst im on my travels Matt and Alex have assured me that they will continue to work hard on piecing together our video!!
